Campout Flyer

This year’s Pack 399 Campout will be held October 18 – 20 at the Special Use Area in Knob Noster State Park. Families are welcome to camp one or two nights or just come out for the activities on Saturday.

The campout will feature a mixture of organized activities and free time for families to enjoy together. Organized activities will include participating in Jamboree-on-the-Air, Scoutcraft & Hike, Hallowfest, and the ever popular Saturday Night Campfire.

Families are welcome to camp Friday night, however no formal organized activities will occur. Dinner will not be provided Friday night. Instead we encourage families to either eat before arriving or bring a picnic to enjoy. We will gather around the campfire on Friday night but in an informal manner.

On Saturday, breakfast and lunch will be provided at the campsite. Starting at 9 am scouts can start participating in Jamboree-on-the-Air thanks the generous support of several local Ham Radio operators. The rest of the morning is available for scouts and their families to enjoy the outdoors or work on rank, adventure and badge requirements individually or in small groups. Leaders will be available to assist scouts in their individual endeavors. Following lunch, we will work on Scoutcraft skills as a large group, as well as endeavor on a hike through one of the many trails Knob Noster State Park has to offer.

Saturday evening we will travel over to Camp Bobwhite to partake in Knob Noster State Park’s Hallowfest. The activities at Hallowfest include a Haunted Cabin, Creepy Crawler Program, Fee Factor Program, History Tram Ride, crafts, games and more. Dinner will be provided at Camp Bobwhite and cooked by the Knob Noster Lions Club. Tickets will be provided to allow each attendee a meat sandwich of their choosing, a bag of chips and a bottle of water. The Lions Club will have additional food, beverages and snacks available for purchase.

At the conclusion of Hallowfest we will return to camp for our traditional Saturday night campfire and Cracker Barrel. This is always a must-see event.

Sunday morning, campers will be awaken with the smell of breakfast to be followed by a church service.

So as to keep costs manageable and affordable for all families, costs and registration are a la carte.
